Description
VITICULTURE
This little known beauty comes from Blaye, which is just across the Gironde River from Medoc and has a rich heritage of justifiably proud winemakers, who are producing great quality wines for a fraction of the price of the more famous areas just down the road. Made by the devoted husband and wife winemaking team of Pascal and Isabelle Montaut, this is a remarkably good Claret.
WINEMAKING
They are devoted to produce easy drinking and good value Bordeaux sourced from their small plots near the Gironde River. They work with respect of the environment Chateau Peyronat’s 14ha have recently been certified organic.
OAK TREATMENT
None.
TASTING NOTE
Without any oak influence, Château Peyronat has an expressive nose of ripe raspberry and cherry fruits alongside caramel notes. The palate is medium bodied and round with a clean finish.
